Alpha Masking disabled with distance

Description

I have some plants I purchased, which seem to render improperly in Alchemy.

The root prim of these plants is a cube prim which has the Default Transparent Texture set to them. In addition, they have their alpha mode set to Alpha Masking.

Whenever these plants get reduced to a lower LOD level from distance, the cube prim suddenly becomes visible as a white cube, as though its alpha mode were set to None.

The issue does not occur in other viewers.
